Triumph Backs New Map Centurion Racing Team For 2010

The forthcoming 2010 race season will see the new MAP Centurion Triumph Racing team competing in the British Supersport and National Superstock 600 Championships.

MAP Centurion Triumph Racing is a culmination of Tech 2 Racing's David Fairbrother, Centurion Racing's Paul Rees, and engine builder and chief engineer John Trigger along with full support from the Triumph factory.

John Trigger's expertise in his field has taken the Daytona 675 to new levels of Supersport success for two consecutive years, winning the British Supersport Championship with Glen Richards in 2008, and achieving third with James Westmoreland in 2009. Joining John's team of mechanics are Jason Jones (Supersport Crew Chief) and Steven Bradley (Superstock Crew Chief).

The new, four-rider team who will compete on Triumph Daytona 675's in the two prestigious BSB support classes is made up of 22-year-old Dan Cooper and South African rider AJ Venter will both be contesting the British Supersport Championship and 20-year old riders Jimmy Hill and Josh Caygill who will compete in the National Superstock 600 Championship.

Stroud based Cooper finished this year's Supersport season in fifth place, having achieved first, second and third place podiums during the season.  21-year-old Venter finished fourth in the National Superstock 600 Championship in 2008, and 14th in the 2009 Supersport Championship in his rookie year.

Jimmy, from Lingfield, finished in the 2008 National Superstock 600 Championship in sixth place, and showed real potential in 2009.  Josh Caygill, the youngest member of the team, rode in the Triumph Triple Challenge in 2007 and the National Superstock 600 class for the last two years.

The MAP Centurion Triumph Team are pleased to have gained the backing of British based oil company Fuchs-Silkolene, who offer one of the most comprehensive ranges of high performance motorcycle and motorsport lubricants developed on the race track.

Hinckley-based Triumph, one of the longest established motorcycle manufacturers in the industry, said of the new Triumph team:  "MAP Centurion Triumph Racing brings together a wealth of experience and talent and we're delighted to be part of the project.  The Daytona 675 is already well proven on the track and we're confident the new team will continue this success.

Roll on next season!"
