World Championship points for JW Racing

James Westmoreland finished in a creditable 11th place behind the current World Champion Andrew Pitt at Donington Park in the World Supersport Championship. The weekend started very well with the team working hard to find the best set up for Sunday's race. The first free practice session saw the Triumph rider finishing 13th on Friday afternoon. This was a very good start to the weekend and proved the young rider on his Daytona 675 was competitive at the very highest level. The second free practice was just as positive with James lowering his lap time and again finishing 13th. Qualifying did not quite go to plan after a few small problems and James qualified 20th but with his fastest ever lap around Donington park.

The race got underway with clear skies and high temperatures and James got his head down to make his way through the field. He ended lap one in 18th place and was mixing it with the championship regulars. James fought his way upto 11th place after a race long battle with Czech rider Patrick Vostarek. With ten laps to go Westy was closing down on the World Champion and Ten Kate Honda rider Andrew Pitt but didn't have enough left to move into the top ten but was only 2.8 seconds behind after the 22 laps. This was a fantastic result for JW Racing and showed what James and the JT Performance Centre 675 can do on the World scene.

A delighted Westmoreland commented " I am over the moon with that race and to score points in the World Championship. Our pace was not a million miles away from 6th place and to be closing Pitt down at the end was a great feeling. This weekend the whole team worked there socks off to gain this result and I just hope we will get the recognition we deserve. The World Championship is a very tough series but I have definitely got the bug and want to be back very soon. I found something in myself this weekend that is going to benefit us all year, and we are getting stronger and stronger evey weekend. I am now more excited than ever to get to Knockhill this weekend were I have had some great results. I would just like to thank all my team, sponsors, family, friends and supporters for there continued support and helping me get this result".
