WSS'09 Round 6 Kyalami
Monday, May 18, 2009

Gary McCoy claimed a 7th place at Kyalami for Team ParkinGo Triumph Be1 Racing, but team mate Gianluca Nannelli's battle for the podium proved fuitless when he failed to finish the race after crashing with only four laps remaining. Despite being very fast for the first half of the race, the Italian rider didn't manage to close the gap from the front runners, although he did manage to take it up a notch later in the race when the other riders were lowering their pace. Nannelli finally got closer to Pitt and managed to overtake him, taking sixth place. Whilst trying to pass Aitchinson, who was only one second behind Lascorz and Sofuoglu, Nannelli made a small mistake, lost about ten metres and, whilst trying to recover, unfortunately went off track and crashed.
Team mate Garry McCoy had a good race as usual, maintaining twelfth spot after the first lap. After a few corners and getting past Fujiwara, then Pirro and finally Roccoli, McCoy got into ninth place and, keeping his position, opened a gap between himself and the riders behind him setting great times into the bargain. With Foret and his teammate both crashing in the last few corners, McCoy secured a seventh place.
The next round is to be held on 31st May at Salt Lake City, USA.
