Sim Makes It A Triple With Snetterton Hat-Trick
Monday, September 15, 2008

The Tunbridge Wells racer claimed pole by two tenths of a second in the sunshine on Saturday afternoon and he immediately took full advantage of his starting position to blast away from the line and take his first win of the weekend.
Behind him, Rhalf Lo Turco, Josh Wainwright and Lance Carey battled for second place, with Wainwright snatching the place on the last lap. However, both he and Lo Turco were removed from the results for technical infringements, which gave the remaining podium places to Tom Fisher and Carey.
In the first of the two main races on Sunday, it was once again a lights-to-flag victory for Sim, but this time it was his TDG Cup rival Mark Cheetham who followed him across the line for second place. Tom Fisher was there to take another win in the Michelin Young Guns category, setting the fastest lap in the process. Wainwright claim third position in the class, while Lo Turco took the final TDG Cup place.
In the final race of the weekend Sim eventually took the chequered flag by just under five seconds from Wainwright, but he was made to work hard for his third win in the early part of the race.
Michelin Young Guns title chargers Wainwright and Mark Cringle crossed the line in second and third places, a one-two in class and were again separated by less than a second, these two both committed to giving everything in the run up to the season finale and that all important TTC crown.
The riders now have just two weeks to wait before the final round of the series takes place as part of the bill at the penultimate round of the British Superbike Championship at Silverstone.
