Richards Extends Championship Lead at Cadwell Park
Wednesday, August 27, 2008

The Australian qualified on pole position and led for most of the race, only to be passed on the final lap by local specialist Steve Plater on a Yamaha. The result sees the Triumph rider extend his points lead to 37 points over closest rival Hudson Kennaugh, who finished fourth, with three rounds to go.
Cadwell proved to be one of MAP Embassy Triumph’s best weekends of the year with factory tester Paul Young sixth on the team’s other machine. Rob Frost finished seventh on yet another Triumph, with the punchy, sweet handling, Daytona 675 providing ideal for the tight and twisty Lincolnshire circuit.
In the Superstock 600 race, MAP Embassy Triumph’s AJ Venter finished sixth to remain third in the points race and still in contention for the championship. The next round of the British championships take place at Croft on September 14th.
