NORTH CITY SHARE THEIR FIRST RAT RUN OF THE YEAR

North City Triumph hosted the “Layer Cake RAT Run” from their dealership at Chigwell with 67 bikes heading out from the dealership, in blazing sunshine, for a run through the Essex countryside to their destination in Tiptree.

The North City rides are designed and pre ridden to ensure that the roads are suitable for the machines. This ensures that a superb mixture of both sweeping bends and technical sections are enjoyed by our riders.  The most technical part of this run was the famous “Burnham Switchbacks”. The road is almost Alpine with it’s tight turns and quick stretches before each combination. The Triumph’s just love these sorts of challenges. It was just superb!

There is nothing like the sight of a drove of Triumphs looping in and out of a complex of bends. It’s almost like watching the 2nd movement of Swan Lake. But without the frilly skirts!

Earlier on in the ride, one of Tiger pilots took a tumble. He suffered no more than a bent gear lever and dented pride, but was delighted when our marshalling team with fellow Tiger owner Dave Finch stepped in and looked after him.

A big “well done” to those folks, and to the 10 RAT riders that used their bikes to hold the traffic.

That’s the great thing about being a Triumph rider. The camaraderie is never beaten!

North City Triumph RAT runners are brilliant when it comes to bringing ideas to the club. To celebrate this, their next run on Sunday 7th June is called the “Signature Run”.

They have called this run the “Signature” for a special reason. They are asking you to submit a run of your own. Help will be provided with the resources of  team of marshals to help you structure and write your run.

 Help will also be available on the day. You will lead the ride and the route will be named after you! Give the team a call at the dealership to register your idea! We look forward to your suggestions and riding your route on the 7th June!
