Safety Recall - Bridgestone Tyres
Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Triumph has been informed by Bridgestone Corporation that they are conducting a voluntary safety recall of the Bridgestone Exedra G850 rear tyre fitted to Triumph's Rocket III Touring models. The motorcycles affected are from the 2008 and 2009 model years from VIN number 324252 to 406650.
Bridgestone advise that some tyres have experienced a torque-induced degradation in the body ply. The degradation may result in the inner liner cracking that may lead to a slow air leakage in the rear tyre. This condition does not affect the front tyre as fitted to the Triumph Rocket III Touring. The affected rear tyre may begin to vibrate at moderate speeds with the vibration reducing at higher speeds, warning the driver.
Affected models should be taken to an approved Triumph dealership for new tyres to be fitted. The modification will be carried out free of charge and should take no longer than 60 minutes.
Triumph is writing to all registered owners of 2008 & 2009 Rocket III Touring models affected by this action enclosing a letter of explanation from Bridgestone. This letter urges owners to contact their local Triumph dealership. Any one who wishes to confirm whether their machine is affected is asked to contact their local dealer or use the VIN Enquiry option contained within the Technical section of Triumph’s website – www.triumphmotorcycles.com
All Triumph authorised dealers are aware of the full details of this action.
