AS1 Suit
Totally focused on track racing performance, the AS1 suit has been designed and developed with GP riders. The aggressive 90 degree cut gives the rider ultimate comfort when riding hard, and stretch panels (stretch Cordura) are positioned for maximum movement.
The sport hump gives increased aerodynamic streamlining for the rider for those all important seconds, and while most of the suit is full leather, sections are in a perforated leather to allow for airflow cooling in the heat of riding.
Inside, the lining is removable and can be washed to keep the suit fresh.
Full grain 1.2-1.4mm cowhide gives the suit high levels of abrasion resistance and longevity for untimate protection. With shoulder thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) moulds with integrated venting, this suit looks good and has PU performance 4 times more abrasion resistant than carbon fibre.
The GP shoulder, elbow and knee protectors (CE approved) are standard, designed to spread the impact of a fall. The back is protected with a CE Race Tech insert. Knee sliders are also supplied as standard.
Seams are off-set to reduce the chance of abrasion across the seam area, while the seams are also multi-stitched to reduce the chance of seam burst. The suit is designed to allow the rider to slide as opposed to tumble. In addition to this, all zippers are high quality semi-locking YKK specification, meaning that the zipper will not pull apart when not required
AS1 Gloves
The high-spec AS1 Glove is the ultimate in race riding, developed between Alpinestars and GP riders.
The thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) knuckle and finger sliders give maximum impact and abrasion resistance. The PU construction is 4 times more abrasion resistant than Carbon Fibre. The use of PU also allows for venting across the knuckle
The outside finger seam is offset with a leather panel and sliders to the wrist to prevent unwanted seam bust and ensure that the rider slides as opposed to tumbles.
The outer and inner fingers are stitched by a leather bridge which prevents and reduces finger breakage and the inner lining of the glove is reinforced with Kevlar. This gives a further barrier against abrasion while the seams are external, increasing rider comfort and feel.
The grip is improved with the suede panels. Essentially, the grip also allows the rider the move and adjust the hand while racing, reducing wear and blistering on the palm and fingers.
Double wrist closures allow for a comfortable and secure fit.
AS2 Boots
The hi-spec race boot that can be used day in day out. Designed and built for racers, this boot is cut to also be useable for everyday use.
Ergonomically shaped, the boot gives maximum riding comfort, manufactured from hi-tech micro fibre, giving greater flexibility. Add to this the shin plate which is made from thermoplastic PU, proving high levels of abrasion resistance which also replicated in the ankle, calf and heel sections. The calf and heel sections form a brace to protect the areas from crushing and twisting. Venting is also build in to the various PU panels for airflow, with a highly breathable lining in the ankle and forefoot areas.
A rubber compound sole gives good grip and durability which is reinforced with a steel bar for additional protection.
