Introducing the 2009 special edition Triumph Tiger

The new two-tone colour scheme was inspired by one of our company employee benefits: being able to specify a bike with non-standard colours. The colours for the special edition Triumph Tiger came as a result of some experimentation from our Triumph design department. Simon Warburton our Product Manager explains “Some of the design team were trying out different bodywork colours and during the process of changing panels they changed from Matt Black to Matt Graphite and noticed that the combination of the two worked really well. I’m very pleased that this suggestion has now become a reality and that we can pass this great expression of individuality on to our customers by combining our prestigious new Matt Graphite paint with our popular Matt Black to produce a limited number of these special edition models”

First introduced in 1994 as a versatile dual-purpose machine, the Triumph Tiger has evolved into the complete all-rounder that can tour, commute and scratch in equal measures. The Triumph Tiger’s commanding off-road style upright riding position is perfect for cutting through the urban jungle, devouring motorway miles and carving through challenging mountain passes.

The Triumph Tiger is powered by our highly-acclaimed 1050cc three-cylinder engine, delivering peak power of 115PS (113bhp) at 9,400rpm and 100Nm (74ft.lbf) torque at 6,250rpm. Adjustable sports suspension and 120 front/180 rear sports tyres combined with powerful radial front caliper Nissin brakes endow the Triumph Tiger with the agility, handling and braking letting you fully exploit Triumph’s potent triple. The 20 litre fuel tank provides a realistic 200 mile (320km) range, adding to the Triumph Tiger’s practicality and touring ability.

The Triumph Tiger SE will be produced in limited numbers and will be in official Triumph dealerships by Spring 2009 priced at £8.899 OTR.

The standard Triumph Tiger remains unchanged and continues to be available with or without ABS, in three colour options for 2009: Fusion White, Jet Black and Blazing Orange.
