INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENT DESIGN DEPARTMENT – ACCESSORIES DESIGN

An industrial placement within the Accessory Design Development at Triumph is ideally suited to Product Design students.

Whilst working on accessories for various models, from the latest in sports bike design to modern classics and cruisers, you will be exposed to the full product development cycle. From initial concept, through development and styling, to detailing and specifying components for production, you will be required to design components incorporating a broad range of features and requirements to reach a final design solution.

During your time within the Accessories Department you will have the support of an experienced Design Engineer, who will be assigned to you for the full period of your placement.

As part of your role you will be required to work with 3D CAD models and production drawings within Pro/Engineer. Comprehensive training will be provided in Pro/Engineer as well as all the supporting systems that are used in the Design Department.

The Accessory department includes the business activities of Marketing, Purchasing, Production Engineering, Quality and Customer Support.  During your induction period you will spend a period of time within each of these departments.  This will allow you to gain an understanding of how these activities interact with design and provide an appreciation of the support required to deliver a product to market.
