PAINTWORK

Triumph use a number of paint techniques:

Standard 'wet on wet' - Classic bike paintwork is sprayed to an average thickness of 200 microns. Most black components are sprayed with approximately 50 - 60 microns of paint and  Urban sports bikes will typically have between 100 - 30 microns of paint. After the painting process is complete the paintwork is hand polished for a lustrous, high gloss finish.

Flamboyant schemes (cardinal red/silver). - The Triumph two-tone flamboyant paint process is as follows; primer coat, silver base colour coat which also forms the infill colour, clear lacquer coat, oven stove (25 minutes at 70 degrees centigrade), masking for infill outline, coloured flamboyant clear lacquer, clear lacquer coat, oven stove, 'flatting' to remove any surface imperfections, hand painted coachlining, final clear coat lacquer and oven stove.

Hand Coachlining. - Models painted in two-tone livery have a coachline painted by hand separating the main tank colour and the infill, adding a unique personal touch.
