Thunderbird Press Launch a Massive Success

May 2009 saw over 60 leading motorcycle journalists from around the world descend on Barcelona, Spain, to sample Triumph’s sensational new Thunderbird cruiser.

Based in the cool Port Olimpico area, the journalists were able to head out of the city and enjoy the Thunderbird’s fine handling on the stunningly twisty roads up to Montserrat, before heading through the Cava winelands on a route designed to fully showcase the bike’s class leading dynamics.

All of those in attendance were suitably impressed with Triumph’s latest masterpiece. Writing for the UK’s Daily Telegraph, Kevin Ash wrote: “(The Thunderbird is) superior to a Harley in just about every way you can measure” while Bart Madsen of Motorcycle-USA.com added: “We came away from our ride on the new ’Bird more impressed than we thought we’d be. There are many estimable cruisers already on the market, but the Triumph matches or exceeds them in most dynamic qualities – acceleration, handling, braking.”
